What is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. Safeguarding means: protecting children from abuse and maltreatment. preventing harm to children’s health or development.
We have a dedicated team of staff who work closely with subject and pastoral staff. To ensure our students and staff are kept safe we have a number of policies and procedures in place, which are understood and followed by all staff, governors and volunteers through annual training.
Their key responsibilities include providing information, guidance and support for any staff member, volunteer or student with a safeguarding or child protection concern. All staff receive annual comprehensive child protection and safeguarding training in addition to regular updates throughout the academic year.
