Holly Lodge High School Sixth Form Admissions and Option Guidance - September 2019 Entry

This guide has been produced to help you make course choices for your education following completion of your GCSEs/Level 2s. There are a range of subjects on offer at both A Level and Level 3 BTEC here at Holly Lodge High School Sixth Form. Below shows the routes of entry that are available to you and how they relate to one another. Please note, these routes are based on your average GCSE point scores.

Path Guidance

I have an average points score of 5.5 or above- including a 6 in English and Mathematics.

You are allowed to select from all subjects - if choosing any science course or mathematics you must still achieve a grade 6 or above in that chosen subject.

I have an average points score over 4.5 points- including a 5 in English and Mathematics.

You may only select two from biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics if you have a grade 6 in those subjects, plus any two others.

I have an average points score between 3.9-4.4- including a 4 in English or Mathematics.

You may select three subjects except biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics. You can choose a mixture of A level and BTEC courses. Double Award BTEC courses count as the equivalent to two choices.
